Prometheus is an open source system monitoring and alerting framework. Inspired by Google's borgmon monitoring system, it was created in 2012 by a former google employee working at SoundCloud, developed as a community open source project, and released in 2015. 2016 saw Prometheus join the Cloud Native Computing In 2016, Prometheus officially joined the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, becoming second only to Kubernetes in popularity.

Node exporter: * Prometheus exporter of hardware and OS metrics exposed by the NIX kernel, written in Go with a pluggable metrics collector. The installation tutorial is shown below:

Installing Node exporter on CentOS 7

After running Node exporter on a CentOS 7 server, the following configuration needs to be added to prometheus.yml:

Log in to be visible.

Restart the prometheus program.

Node Exporter dashboard recommendations:

Importing the 8919 dashboard in Grafana, the steps were skipped and the result is shown below:
