The CentOS project will be replaced by "CentOS Stream", which is likely to be a Beta test release into Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Redhat will continue support for CentOS 7, but support for CentOS 8 will end at the end of 2021.

"If CentOS Linux 8 ends maintenance, its best option is to migrate to CentOS Stream 8", which is a variant version of CentOS and will have regular updates.

The CentOS 7 series, too, will cease maintenance after the maintenance deadline is reached in 2024 .
